Our approach is proactive, unlike the traditional Occupational Health model where post absence engagement is the norm. HCB Australia deploys the collaborative tools to engage pre absence, and earlier post absence than is the accepted norm. Both Insurers and employers acknowledge that timely notifications remain a real challenge when it comes to unplanned absence, and this often results in workplace absence being medicalised too soon and often, unnecessarily. There is overwhelming evidence to show that the earlier an HCB Australia Clinical Case Manager can be involved in a potential or actual workplace absence, the better, safer, and more sustainable the outcome. HCB Australia clinical team collaboration with the Insurer and employer client, and the existing services like Rehab and EAP,  together with client commitment and resolve to reduce unplanned workplace absence, will reduce, and contain absenteeism and the associated costs a business is exposed to, significantly. For an Insurer, claim incidence and duration is vastly improved. Our unique and differentiated proposition supports an employer client to demonstrate compliance with WH&S Legislative obligations to manage PsychoSocial hazards.

Our process

Our Early Intervention Clinical Case Manager service supports employees who experience health related difficulties which lead to an absence from the workplace.  HCB’s Clinical Case Manager works with both the employer and employee to meet the individuals’ needs and, when the time is right, plan a sustainable return to work.
